Salad burnet
Sanguisorba minor
The big surpriser, chew one of the modest-looking leaves and wow - a cucumber explosion! Great in salads, with beans and in summery drinks. Try a few leaves in a G & T for a refreshing cool cucumber kick. Handily the leaves will keep growing throughout the winter - so you can pretend it's summer all year round.
Try infusing the leaves in vinegar for a salad dressing or chopping into cream cheese for a fragrant dip.
Salad bunet is an easy to grow plant in sun or partial shade, it can also be kept indoors. Keep well-trimmed to ensure a regular supply of fresh leaves.
All herbs are planted in a peat reduced compost mix with added perlite for extra drainage.
Choose whether you receive your herb planted up in an Italian terracotta pot, with a matching saucer - or if you already have a pot in mind, keep it in its nursery pot.
