A pretty plant with super fragrant pink flowers in spring. The petals can be added to salads, fruit pies, jams or syrups. The crystallized petals can be used in baking. A nerve tonic can be made from the petals either into a cordial or infused in white wine.
Grow in a fully sunny position and deadhead the flowers when they have finished. Before eating the petals, remove the white heel as this can taste bitter.
Single herb plant in a 15cm Italian terracotta pot, with a matching saucer. Planted in a peat-free compost mix with added vermiculite for extra drainage.
