Variegated Lemon Thyme
Thymus citriodorus aureus
The mouth-watering lemony smelling leaves add a spicy flavour to all sorts of Mediterranean dishes. A tea made from the leaves and flowers mixed with a spoonful of honey is said to soothe if you are feeling coldy. Use in chicken stuffings or make a simple sugar syrup with the leaves for a special cocktail ingredient!
Grow in a sunny position and prune back hard after flowering.
Single herb plant in a 15cm or jumbo 19cm Italian terracotta pot, with a matching saucer. Planted in a peat reduced compost mix with added perlite for extra drainage.
