Salvia officinalis ‘Purpurascens’
Has a sensational, warm flavour and many culinary uses, it’s delicious with pork and pasta. Sage leaves can be made into a soothing hair rinse, the leaves are also good in a herbal bath or teas.
Keep in a sunny position and cut back in the spring to boost new growth. Let the soil dry out in between waterings and water in at the roots, not above on the leaves.
Single herb plant in a 15cm Italian terracotta pot, with a matching saucer. Planted in a peat-free compost mix with added vermiculite for extra drainage.
